Introducing Barraz Genesis' most recent chapter in New York City! As we eagerly anticipate progression and growth in our nonprofit status in this new state, we are so excited to see what this new chapter will bring.

OUR NEWEST CHAPTER

New York, NY

People crossing a street in downtown Washington, D.C., near the historic monument with a large statue carved into the building. Signs indicate the intersection of Washington Square North and Broadway. Several pedestrians are walking, some with backpacks, and a person is in the foreground adjusting their hair.

She’s Got It! Partnership

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with director and filmmaker Kelli Converso on her thesis film, She’s Got It! Together, we aim to bring the joy of filmmaking to underserved school districts, inspiring students through hands-on experience with the art form. In support of this mission, 10% of all funds raised will go toward developing a new literacy unit focused on film and its practical applications, creating a pathway for students to explore storytelling in new and creative ways.

Barraz Genesis is excited to announce its new partnership with NYU Literacy Matters, a student-led organization within the university dedicated to literacy advocacy and equity. Collaborating with esteemed New York-based nonprofits like Reading Partners and Imani House, Barraz Genesis expands its outreach, engaging college students in meaningful community involvement. Founder Elena Garcia serves as the president, leading initiatives such as book drives and service talks aimed at inspiring NYU students to champion educational equality throughout the city.
